Javier Sandoval & Mikaela Boyne first met at a party she hosted in her Brown University freshman dorm in 2012. He heard hardcore rap over the speakers and asked, Who’s playing Immortal Technique at this fancyass school? Lo and behold, a giddy blonde piped up. They had a nice chat but quickly parted and didn’t see each other for the rest of the year. Javier thought she was cute though.
Come sophomore year, Javier’s stressed out with Computer Science homework, smoking a cig outside in the dark winter, when that same giddy blonde skipped by just to tell him, Smoking’s gross and bad for you. Not remembering who she was from the year before, he huffed away, only to accidentally show up at her work in the cafeteria the next day, where she gave him free tacos and a hug. They were great friends ever since.
Kalie would bring Javier Americanos when he was stuck in the computer science library, and he would help Kalie at her art shows. Even after Javier moved to Seattle, they kept in touch and visited.
With the pandemic in the air, Javier visited Kalie in Providence, where SHE made the move, gasp! A family man, he promptly moved in.
Since then, she’s followed & supported him as he completed his MFA in Alabama and has started his PhD in Georgia. He’s also admired her and cheered her on as she completed her first graphic novel, completed a worldwide kickstarter, and has featured her work in various shows and conferences.
After FIVE years together, and countless adventures, they are tying the knot in the company of all their loved ones.

If looking for an ideal location to explore, downtown is best as it's very walkable and we're only a 5 min drive north.
If looking to be near our house, the Wingate on North Ave is a 3min drive from us.
